Rocking Piano Songs

If you think that playing rock on piano is easy, you better think twice. It is not simply a matter of beating the keys loudly without any thought at all. Even great rock piano players like Elton John and Billy Joel had to undergo formal training while learning to play the piano; and they hard to start with the classics, too.

Sir Elton John (Reginald Kenneth Dwight) attended the Royal Academy of Music in London when he was eleven years old but he had already begun his piano training at the very young age of four. His intense desire of pursuing his own music and becoming a star led him to leave school just before graduation to follow his dream. A prolific songwriter as well as an accomplished pianist, not to mention his proclivity to dress flamboyantly, Sir Elton John is one of his generations most successful and enduring star.

Billy Joel (William Joseph Martin Joel) had a father who was an accomplished pianist and as such had to undergo training at a young age under noted mentors. Embarking on a musical career short of a high school diploma, he is considered as an icon in the music industry for his prolific songwriting and capability to re-invent himself. Billy Joel and Elton John have collaborated on their Face to Face Tour to bring their own kind of music to the world.

There are also other notable personalities who have brought the worlds of rock and roll and piano together. Antoine “Fats” Domino, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Lil Harden Armstrong are just some of the people who have proven that rock and piano can go together. With dedication, patience, total commitment and an enduring love for music, these people have managed to put a little rockin’ twist in the world pf piano.
